Ideas Of Significance

Day in the Life: Victoria Orr, Manager at Significance

At Significance, our people are at the heart of everything we do. In this interview of “A Day in the Life,” we’re spotlighting Victoria Orr, a manager on our Air Force account. Victoria shares her journey, daily routines, and what makes her role so fulfilling.

From Fun Beginnings to Purposeful Work

Victoria joined Significance in 2021, and as she reflects on her nearly four years here, she describes her time as a whirlwind of meaningful and enjoyable work. “It’s been a blink of an eye, honestly, because it’s been great fun and rewarding,” she says.

Starting the Day with Focus

Victoria’s mornings start bright and early after she drops her son off at school around 7:30 AM. From there, she dives into her day:

  • 9:00 AM: Daily team huddles to set priorities and tackle key tasks.
  • 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: A mix of client meetings, team brainstorming sessions, and working through deliverables.
  • 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Wrapping up the day with her team to address any pressing items before logging off.

Her work is dynamic, ensuring no two days are the same, but collaboration remains a constant.

Driving Impact with Metrics and Strategy

Currently, Victoria is leading the development of an executive dashboard that tracks metrics for her client’s organization. She’s also reviewing incoming strategy plans for the division. “Our work directly supports the client’s success and contributes to Significance’s mission of fostering collaboration and growth,” she explains.

Rewarding Challenges and Creative Solutions

The most rewarding part of her role? “Knowing that the work I’m doing positively impacts service members,” Victoria shares. But with impactful work comes challenges, like prioritizing a steady flow of innovative ideas. “Communication is key—whether it’s with the client or my team, understanding the importance of each project helps us focus on what matters most.”

Tools of the Trade

Victoria relies on Microsoft OneNote to stay organized, tracking tasks and notes throughout the day. And as a consultant, she’s a dedicated fan of PowerPoint: “I couldn’t miss a shoutout to PowerPoint!”

Finding Community at Significance

For Victoria, Significance’s culture stands out. “The community is my favorite part,” she says. “I love the warm, welcoming feeling I get at any event or when visiting the Alexandria office.”

One particularly memorable experience was traveling to Germany for a client event. “The food was amazing!” she recalls.

Balance Beyond Work

After a busy day, Victoria unwinds by staying active—bike rides with her son or walking her dogs are favorites. She also stays involved in her local community through PTSA events and her service league.

Victoria’s journey at Significance embodies our commitment to making a difference, fostering collaboration, and building community. Her work not only supports our clients but also reflects the values that make Significance a special place to grow and thrive.
