As Significance celebrates its 10-year anniversary, we’re highlighting the incredible people who have contributed to our growth and success. Today, we introduce Matt Robinson, an Associate Director who’s been with us for over three years, starting in March 2021. Through this interview, Matt shares his daily routine, insights, and favorite moments at Significance.

What’s your role at Significance, and how long have you been with the company?
I’m an Associate Director at Significance, and I’ve been part of the team since March 2021—over three years now.
What does a typical day look like for you? Can you walk us through your routine?
My day usually starts with checking my calendar for meetings and messages that may have posted overnight, both from Significance and on the client-side. I sync my alarms on my phone to make sure I’m prepared for the day ahead. After that, I dive into my prioritized list of tasks, but I always make time for a few important daily rituals:
- Have a cup of coffee
- Call my mom
- Check LinkedIn
- Later in the morning, I call my daughter for a brief check-in
What project or task are you currently working on?
I’m currently supporting the Army General Fund Audit Support (GFAS) Program. Significance has a sub-contract with EY, and my role involves applying our expertise in Financial Management (FM) and project management to improve collaboration between the Army and contractors.
How does your work contribute to the company’s mission or goals?
My work directly aligns with Significance’s mission by leveraging our core Financial Management capabilities and project management expertise. I focus on delivering results for our clients while also maintaining a pipeline of business development opportunities within the DoD and Federal space. This dual focus ensures that we not only sustain incoming revenue but also position ourselves for future growth.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I find the most reward in applying my project and program management expertise, particularly when I can communicate innovative concepts through writing or develop visual solutions like Visio diagrams and Gantt charts. It’s gratifying to align time-tested theories and best practices with real-world challenges to create practical solutions.
What’s your favorite part of the culture at Significance?
Significance has the best culture I’ve experienced in my 27-year career. The people here make all the difference. There’s a real sense of congeniality and camaraderie, which, while intangible, creates a spirit within the company that is palpable. It’s something I truly value, and I’m grateful to be part of such a positive and supportive organization.
Can you share a memorable moment or experience from your time here?
One of my most memorable experiences was participating in a corporate event where we laid wreaths at the headstones of fallen soldiers. That moment was the start of many cherished memories with my colleagues and really underscored the deep respect we have for the military and the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms.
How do you unwind after a busy day at work?
Golf is my go-to activity for unwinding. Whether I’m hitting balls at the range, playing a round on the course, or watching highlights of my favorite tournaments and players, I’m always learning more about the game and ways to improve.
Matt’s contributions and experiences reflect the values and culture that make Significance a great place to work. His dedication to both his clients and the company’s growth, along with his passion for continuous learning and building connections, exemplifies what it means to be part of the Significance family. We’re proud to celebrate Matt and all our amazing team members as we mark this 10-year milestone!
