Day in the Life Spotlight: Celebrating Significance’s 10-Year Anniversary
As Significance marks our 10-year milestone, we reflect on the incredible stories of our employees who embody the heart and soul of our company. Their dedication, experiences, and relationships have shaped who we are today. In this special “Day in the Life” interview, we spotlight Meghan Harra, one of our valued team members who recently rejoined Significance as a proud boomerang employee. Here is what she had to say about Significance, her time away from Significance, and her daily routine.
What’s your role at Significance, and how long have you been with the company?
I am a proud boomerang employee and have been back for a little over a year now! I came back after two years at Meta to support the Client Delivery section and was recently promoted to Head of Delivery. I am extremely excited about this role and the opportunity as I love aligning people with high-quality service, driving continuous improvement, working cross-functionally, and aligning priorities.
What does a typical day look like for you? Can you walk us through your routine?
A typical day involves meetings! It’s a mix of strategic planning meetings, 1:1’s, ad hoc problem-solving sessions, and heads-down time. My focus is on balancing active contracts, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving process improvements.
What project or task are you currently working on?
Currently, my priorities are focused on strengthening our delivery infrastructure. This includes building the team, crafting our H1 2025 Client Engagement Calendar, and developing the Delivery Playbook.
How does your work contribute to the company’s mission or goals?
My work ensures projects are delivered as promised and fosters reliable, efficient delivery teams that strengthen client relationships and support our reputation and growth.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Working with people and witnessing alignment across organizations.
What challenges do you often face in your role, and how do you overcome them?
- Resource constraints and allocations: Effective workforce planning (easier said than done!).
- Maintaining morale: Recognizing team achievements and encouraging open communication.
- Continuous improvement and innovation: Even the smallest process improvements and leveraging technology boost efficiency.
- Client management: Nurturing strong and collaborative client relationships.
What tools or resources help you stay productive during the day?
Collaboration and communication are key—Microsoft Teams is imperative for reducing email overload and allowing real-time problem solving. I also use SharePoint and Google Drive frequently to ensure project documentation is organized, secure, and accessible.
What’s your favorite part of the culture at Significance?
The people are wonderful here, which is why I came back.
Can you share a memorable moment or experience from your time here?
I tell this story all the time, but the reason I came back is because of the relationships I built with the people in this company. At Significance, the leadership doesn’t just care about you; they care about your family too.
Back in 2021, my husband was deployed on a moment’s notice to HKIA to aid in the Afghanistan evacuation. This was days after returning from another mission and months after a nine-month deployment. This deployment felt different because no one knew what was going on or when they would return, and my two kids felt it too. He would also be missing my daughter’s birthday for the third year in a row, which absolutely crushed me. I remember calling my Director and breaking down over the phone.
Instead of sitting idly by, four of my team members—including my Director and Senior Manager—flew to Ft. Liberty, North Carolina, to surprise both myself and my kids. They showered my daughter with presents for her birthday and gave me much-needed reprieve. It was a great distraction for her and for us. My husband returned safely home a few weeks later, but I have never forgotten the kindness that was shown that weekend.
How do you unwind after a busy day at work?
Well, I have kids, so the busy day doesn’t end until they go to bed. Once their activities are over and they are asleep, my husband and I like to enjoy a nice Old Fashioned with a good TV show.
This employee’s story is a testament to the incredible culture and relationships that define Significance. As we celebrate a decade of growth and success, we honor the people who have made this journey unforgettable. Here’s to many more years of making a difference together!
